Who is responsible for your data

ModelFit ("ModelFit", "we", "us") operates modelfit.io and is the data controller for the limited personal data described below. ModelFit is an independent project.

What we collect, and why

We are deliberately data-light. The only personal data we ever collect is what you actively give us:

• Newsletter email address. If you subscribe to the weekly local-AI email, we store your email address. Alongside it we keep the date and time you signed up, a one-time random token (used only to identify and unsubscribe you), the page you signed up from (e.g. "wizard-result"), and a record that you consented (a timestamp and a pseudonymised reference) so we can demonstrate your opt-in if asked. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Email you send us. If you email us, we keep that correspondence to reply to you.

That is all. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, or any third-party tracking. We do not build profiles, and we do not ask for your name, address, or payment details (we sell nothing on this site).

Cookies and local storage

We set no tracking or advertising cookies. The site uses a small amount of your browser's local storage purely for features you ask for: remembering your light/dark theme choice, and remembering that you have already dismissed the newsletter pop-in so it does not nag you again. These are strictly necessary for those functions, stay on your device, and are never sent to us or to anyone else, so no cookie-consent banner is required.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your data. We use a small number of service providers (processors) strictly to run the site and the newsletter:

• Resend (resend.com) delivers our newsletter emails. Your email address is processed by Resend to send you mail you asked for.
• Cloudflare fronts the site (CDN and security) and processes standard network/server logs, including IP addresses, transiently to serve and protect the site.
• Our hosting provider stores the site and the subscriber list on a secured server.

When you click an affiliate "Where to Buy" or cloud-GPU link, you leave our site and the destination (Amazon, RunPod, Vast.ai) sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy. We never send your identity to them; the link simply tells them the visit came from us. See our affiliate disclosure.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing (one click, from any email) removes your address from our list.

International transfers

Some of our processors (e.g. Resend, Cloudflare) are US-based and may process data outside the EEA/UK under their own standard contractual clauses. The only data involved is your email address and standard network logs.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can unsubscribe at any time using the one-click link in every email. If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar regime, you also have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are a California resident, we confirm we do not sell or "share" your personal information and run no cross-context behavioural advertising.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@modelfit.io. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

modelfit.io is a tool for people choosing computer hardware and AI software. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
